A surprising number of pilots attending briefing awaiting instructions from Martin Colcough the Meet Director.
The weather report received once again from Rebeca was read out.
An update on work the night before on getting permission to Bache hill was given. Unfortunately use of this site on this occasion was not possible.
Taking all above into account it was decided, that even though it may be free flyable, calling a task was not an option.
A shorter task today, from Merthyr to Chepstow with a turnpoint near Usk giving a total of 48km.
Again it was not exactly a day that could be called cracking, yet pilots still made Goal.
Class one, top three all made goal with Grant coming in first followed by Justin, then Graham.
Paul Harvey recovered his up to date poor standing by getting to Goal and winning the Task. Craig Dolwin was the runner up,, followed by Tim King who landed in the middle of nowhere and had a rather long carry out.
Club Class again did not activate the task.
A 88km Task set from Hay bluff to Monmouth and then onto Calmsden just north of Cirencester.
Although it seemed mainly a grey sky, somehow or other, and some pilots are still trying to figure out how they did it, Justin Needham won the Day with an impressive 82 km.
Grant Crossingham came in second with a (surprising to him) 67km flight, closely followed Graham Phipps, who is still recovering from a rather nasty motorcycle accident.
